Pics from Hervey Bay Sep '07 (School Holidays)

Had to stop at The Big Pineapple for "lunch"!

Made it to Hervey Bay and had a walk along the beach before dinner.

A few shots at the far end of the esplanade.
The view from our unit.

Whale watching day, boarding The Whalesong.
One of three types of dolphin we saw going out.
That's the actual clarity of the water! Freaky, huh?
Thar she blows!!! A humpback whale!! YEEE HAWWWW!!

A pec fin slap

Views of Fraser Island on the way back in.

On the way in to Maryborough.
A creepy tire (or tyre) cover.....check out the car tag!
We made our way to the Mary Poppins statue.
(The plaque explains that the city of Maryborough is the home of the creator of the Mary Poppins story)

The weather turned for the worse in Hervey Bay, so we all agreed to head south after checking out. We stopped first at Noosa's Main Beach. Next stop was Coolum so that Emily could show us her tidal pools from Biology Camp. So we took a 4 hour drive and turned it into a 9 hour home! Drove through all the coastal cities before returning to the freeway.

Would you believe that I snapped (zoomed and cropped) this whale breaching off of Coolum Beach!! Great shot, just wish we could have gotten one close up while out on a tour, guess the whales are too busy checking us out on the boat to do a "show".

There you have it!

Returned home at 7p, to wake in the a.m. to do laundry, shopping, cooking, taxi driver running....ahhhh the comfortable ruts of life!
Delay for posting: Mark had to recover a directory of the hard drive before downloading these pics from the camera......thank the heavens for my lovable geeky hubby!!!

Hugs to all!!
